Somewhere in August 2006 ,
After finishing A levels perhaps the most boring/tense time for most of the students , is the time they spend at home waiting for their acceptance letters from various universities . I was no exception to this and when I got admitted to NUST, praises from all across the community were showered at me . The community at KSA , considered this an outstanding achievement and so I always felt that I was somewhat special .
Along came early september , and it was time to leave your loved ones and go study in a somewhat alien land(sadly). It was my first flight and I was all alone. I can never have enough words to describe the "fears" that existed within me at that time. Those moments ,whether that be finding your way to the departure lounge or getting outside and finding a cab , were haunting to say the least. It was as if I was to this day living in a nest and now it was time for me to explore the outside world , like a young bird on his famous first flight. My feeling at that moment was in no way different to a baby cub getting out for his first hunt .
Islamabad Airport.
However sometimes it takes moments like these to let someone learn what life really is about ; What life really is outside the rectangular T.V box . Eventually I conquered those moments with an unknown impulse of confidence and wisdom that to this day has baffled me . Call it instinct , call it faith ; whatever you call it , it taught me one of my very first lessons .
It taught me that there was no mountain hard to climb , no river hard to conquer , no fire hard to tame in the wild wild world we live in ; all we need is a will and we shall find a way.
